For the past four years, the Baldwin Bethany Community Development Corporation (BBCDC) has been blessed to have had the funding and in-kind support that we need from our partners, aiding us with
presenting informal STEM enrichment through the summer and college readiness events for children and youth in our community.
Along with the good things this new year has brought us, so come the challenges. In response to the danger of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, as with many other organizations, we too have taken the
same measures to slow the spread of the virus by cancelling events and promoting social distancing.
The Baldwin Bethany Community Development Corporation (BBCDC) has made the difficult yet necessary decision to inform LAUNCH Academy Parents and Guardians that the Summer Nutritional Academic Camp
(SNAC) program is cancelled for the summer of 2020.
Our recent college readiness field trip to UCLA for the Get College Ready! event was, “out of an abundance of caution”, cancelled by the UCLA Administrative Staff. Although it was upsetting, it was
necessary to prevent and reduce the likelihood of spreading the virus. To limit the spreading of this virus, BBCDC will also cancel its College Readiness events until further notice.
The BBCDC Team is saddened that we must cancel summer camp and suspend academic events. During this difficult time, we pray for all impacted by this outbreak and that our collective efforts succeed in
controlling the spread of this virus.
Our goal, with the help of our funders, is to move forward with our mission in 2021. We look forward to better days when we resume providing families with STEM enrichment opportunities through SNAC,
College Readiness events & other informal academic programming.
It is our pleasure to offer programs and provide opportunities that revitalize the Baldwin Village / Crenshaw Community.
Stay tuned for programming updates!
Best,
