BBCDC recognizes the importance of maintaining focus on the support of our children and youth and their families as hunger and lack quickly become barriers that impede progress, especially the educational progress and well-being of the young members of the community.
In place of our traditional STEM enrichment program (SNAC), BBCDC mobilized its Thankful Thursdays campaign which was formulated to address food insecurity issues that were either heightened or brought-on amid the COVID-19 pandemic. BBCDC’s Thankful Thursdayscampaign provides Grab-N-Go Care Packages filled with a week’s supply of food items, household products, and at-home STEM lessons and activities to families with students in Kindergarten through 12th grades that attend schools in Board District #1 of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) or Charter School Area.
BBCDC proudly serves the Baldwin Village / Crenshaw community and surrounding cities while exercising safe practices and maintaining social distancing.
